Mother's Day Card

Here is a card I made my mother for Mothers Day. This card was inspired by two things, my mom and the challenge over at I am Roses. I love the color teal, so when I saw the challenge so many ideas just started floating in my head. I had recently purchased the Rose stamp from LaBlanche stamps and had not had a chance to play with it.

For the card, I used Webster's pages Vintage Vogue Collection, as it had the perfect color scheme of teals and pale pinks/ salmon. I then took a doily and several smaller I Am Roses flower and colored them using a mix of teal and pale pink shimmer sprays. Since I wanted more definition around the doily, I then went back with a darker teal color for the edge. I find that this technique allows for the the stamped image to pop more. I colored the stamped image with pearlescent chalk colors, by Pebbles. Lastly, I framed the doily with Recollections strand pearls.

Enjoy and be inspired.

To the Moon- October Afternoon Rocket Age

Here is another layout I did of my nephew. We were actually at the Canadian Museum of Natural History in Ottawa, in a kids inspired submarine. I thought the picture looked like he was in a rocket ship windows.
For the layout, which is an 8 x8 layout, I decided to layer some of the pattern paper. I took some Tim Holtz grunge stars and painted them with Distress Stain in Broken China, and then covered then with some stickles. Lastly, I added the rubber charms and buttons from the matching October Afternoon line. I love the colors of this layout, they match my nephews smile.
Enjoy and be inspired.

May IARCC - "MOB" layout

When I saw the IAR challenge, I was super excited, teal is my favorite color. It was actually the main color in my wedding color theme. That being said, my mom had decided to go against my wedding color, and wear purple. She said she loved the fit of the dress. Ohhh well, that's my mom, she was definitely the Mother of the Bride.

On this layout, I used some Bazzill background as the base. Then I cut up some older DCWV, The Four Seasons stack. I then, used a technique I saw on YouTube channel PrimaDonnaCrafts. I then selected a variety of I Am Roses flowers, and placed then in a cup of water, so that I can roll back the petals, so that I can remove some of the dimension from the flowers. This will allow them to fit better in my 12x12 album. I then colored them with the following Lindsay Stamp Gang colors, French Lilac Violet, Open Arms Amber, and Breakfast Club Blue. Some of the purple color comes from the naturally died flowers, that's had in my stash. I also used some handmade flowers, which I received in a swap, dont you find they match perfectly with the color scheme. Lastly, I added some Tattered Angels Chip Letters, which I colored, and then I randomly scattered some pearl and clear bling all over the layout. Finally, no layout is truly finished without Prima bling.

Enjoy and be inspired.

"Hugs" Scrapbook Layout - Mrs Caroline Paper line

Earlier this year, I decided to join a kit club. A friend of mine has been scribed to My Scrapbook Nook kits, for a couple of years now, and I'm always impressed with the kits, when we get together and scrapbook. I had finally decided to take the plug. Their kits are great for children inspired pages. Since I take so many pictures of my nieces and nephew, this was a great kit for me to get. And I must say I have not been disappointed, yet. Their kits are soo fun and bright to play with.

On this layout, I decided to try something new, I used a mixed media technique. This technique includes taking bubble wrap, and and painting it white, then applying it to in random to the base pattern paper. I then layered some more patterned paper. I also applied some of the matching rub ones, randomly, to the layout. The picture is of my niece and nephew hugging each other, they always love hugging each other.
Enjoy and be inspired.

More MyMindsEye Cards

Here are a few more cards I made with the new MyMinds Eye, Follow your Heart line. I truly love this line, the colors are bright but not over powering. It makes it so easy to create spring cards. I really had a great play playing the the honeycomb design/texture that is part of the paper. I love the fact that honeycomb is in this season, I hope it's stays a little while.
The flowers I used, are a mix of Prima Essentials and I Am Roses. I am also very proud of myself, I used some great Prima stickers, that I bought. There are just the perfect accent, and they give another dimension to the cards.

Fast and gorgeous Congratulation Card

My brother recently got engaged. It's a really nice time in our family. A few years back he was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma, it was a horrible time in our family. On Christmas day of 2009 he started his aggressive chemo therapy, and on new years he was finally released from the hospital after a two week stay. It was truly a horrible time in our lives, and we're so happy to be here today celebrating his engagement. I quickly, or as quickly as a scrapper can make things, made him and his fiancée a card for their joyous occasion.
Continuing along with the de stash movement, I used some older Prima paper, and paper pieced the background together. Then, I finally took out the stamp and die cut from Sizzix and Hero Arts, for the flower. I paper pieced two out of the three flowers. I colored the last flower with my distress inks and a eyeshadow applicator. I love the look, it's distressed and has that water colored look, at the same time. The sentiment is from Just Rite stamps. Enjoy and be inspired.

Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 cards

Continuing with the de stashing concept, here're some card I made with the Cosmo Cricket Circa1934 paper pack. I haven't even ever cut into this paper pack until I needed to make these birthday cards for some close scrappy friends.
On a side note, I just wanted to say that I love my iPad and Pinterest. It's because I was lying in bed thinking how I was going to incorporate these papers in these cards. I was lost and mostly anxiously. I, then easily took out my iPad and Googled and Pinterest the paper line, and in a matter or minutes, I found a couple of card layouts I could easily use for my cards.
The supplies I used:
-black Chinese braid time, from my stash, I think I got it at Walmart
-Tattered Angels postage stamp chip pieces, Fran and letters
-Recollection large beige flower, comes in a large bucket
-Tim Holtz distress stain in fired brick
- Just Rite stamps
Enjoy and be inspired.

De-Stash Layout

Besides starting a blog this year, another resolution of sorts, is to stop hoarding soo much. I probably actually qualify to be on the show now. In this layout I decided to combine a misting technique that I never tried. I used a Tattered Angels Glimmer screen, and some Lindys stamp gang product. I am quite happy with the effect. I, then, tried using the layering technique, which I used with the embellishments. I used some old Chatter Box stickers, that I received in a grab bag at my local LSS NSD crop. I am pleased with the overall look of the layout, however I'm going to have to continue to practice my layering embellishment technique. It's not as full as I wanted it to be.
Lastly, the picture is of my niece, looking out the window on her birthday last year. She loves the outdoors, and I thought this picture really captures the feeling. enjoy, and be inspired.

MME March Card Layout

Here is another submission, I know I'm on a role. This one was easy and hard at the same time for me. It was hard, because I'm not a card maker, it was easy though, because the new mme Follow your Heart line, is gorgeous and so easy to work with. The colors are bright without being overwhelming. Just awesome. The stamp set is from hero arts, and the ribbon rose is from Making Memories. Enjoy and be inspired.

March IARCC Submission

Here is my submission for I am roses blog challenge. Love their product. In this layout I decide to keep the color of the flowers basic, and just add a little gold stickles, as it shows off their beauty and quality. If you recognize the the background paper, your right, it is the beautiful Mariposa paper line by DCWV. I have finally decided to cut into, literally. The picture is of me and husband having some fun at a park in Kingston, Ont.

As for the layout itself, ill be honest I'm not so happy with it. It's what I call a dud. I always need to make one, before my true creativity can unleash. Enjoy, and be inspired.

Prima March Sketch layout

Here is a layout that I submitted for Primas March sketch challenge. It's was a awesome layout, I was soo inspired but it. The picture is of my niece when she was just born. I LOVE baby's feet, I don't think you can find anything cuter in life.

For the layout, I used some old and some new prima stuff. The new (or at least relatively new) is the paper line, which is pixi glenn, and the old are the flowers and bling. Yes
Aides, I broke some stuff off from the hoard valut. Lol. Enjoy, and be inspried

First Post

Hi All

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a young crafter from Canada, hoping to embark in the blogging world. I have been crafting, seriously, for about 3 years now. I do mostly scrapbooking, but I also enjoy doing baking, and creating wedding invitations.

What inspires me: I am inspired a lot from the internet, my latest obsession is Pinterest. I also follow tons of different blogs, and watch wayyyy to many hours of YouTube.

I hope you enjoy this journey with me, and are inspired by my posts.
